Tang Su Do is a martial art from Korea which is becoming more and more popular with all ages. If you fancy having a go, there are sessions at the Penywaun Community Centre from 7 until 8.30 on a Wednesday and 4.30 to 7.30 on a Sunday. If you want to know more, drop into the Community Centre when the sessions are on.

 

 Are you looking forward to Strictly Come Dancing coming back to the tele? Perhaps it will inspire you to take up dancing and get fit too. Well, Salsa Size could be just what you’re looking for – it’s dance combined with work out and it’s on every Monday from 7.30 until 8.30 in Penywaun Community Centre. Are you having a clear out of your summer things? Do you want to make space for Christmas? If you’ve got unwanted clothes, toys, furniture or bric a brac, the British Heart Foundation Shop in Commercial Street, Aberdare, would love to take everything off your hands. They’re part of a big campaign across Wales to try and raise more than 23 thousand bags of quality stock for their shops. And don’t forget while you’re there, you might get a bargain for yourself too.

 

The Cana afterschool club returns on Monday October 5th. There's room for 20 juniors and comp students, and 12 infants aged over 4. It operates from 3.15 until 6.30 and costs 50p for infants and £1 for older kids. If you want to book a place you need to enrol on either September 22nd or September 23rd.

New and existing donors are always needed as blood stocks in local hospitals are low - especially O blood types both O Negative, and O Positive
